Chavadi

About:
Chavadi means a village office or rest house.
Every alternate night, Baba used to sleep at Chavadi (from 1910 onwards).
Chavadi became a ritual site, and it continues today in the Thursday Palkhi Procession.
Key Features:
Divided into two parts:
One part holds a wooden bed used by Baba.
The other has a portrait of Sai Baba and the palanquin (palkhi) used in processions.
Thursday Procession:
Baba’s portrait and sacred items are taken from Dwarkamai to Chavadi with chants and music.
It recreates the original journey Baba made.
✨ Importance:
Together, Sai Mandir, Dwarkamai, and Chavadi form the spiritual heart of Shirdi. Devotees often visit these three spots in a sequence for a complete darshan of Sai Baba’s life and teachings.
